Long-billed Corella

Length: About 370mm

Voice: Contact call a two-syllable yodel; shrieks in alarm.

Food: Seeds, roots and grubs.

Where Found: Open forest, woodland and grassland from Hamilton to the Coorong, ranging to Melbourne and southern Riverina

Habits: Flocks of up to 50. Sometimes a concentrated food source will attract a mob of several hundred. Very noisy birds with distinctive yodelling call. Feed on ground with a sentinel system.

Nesting: August-December. Nest in a tree hollow only in large gums. Incubation 24days, by both sexes.
