Nature: Miniature ponies are inquisitive, very intelligent, and have a gentle and affectionate nature. They need firm but kind handling.
Size: Standing no taller than 34 inches at the withers as measured from the last hairs of the mane.
Food: Hay (a mix of grass hay and lucerne) is required for the pony on a daily basis.
Breeding: Male ponies are called stallions, females are called fillies or mares, and babies are called foals. Gestation for a pony is approx 11 months, with an additional 6 or 7 months for weaning
Lifespan: Given they are well looked after a Miniature Pony can live up to 30 years.
