Key Responsibilities
- Uphold high standards of animal welfare and maintain husbandry routines
- Conduct health checks during assigned rounds, promptly reporting and recording any observed changes
- Maintain accurate animal records and contribute to procedure and policy development
- Perform daily educational presentations and talks
- Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety policies, supporting the development of related documentation.
- Maintain a professional appearance and engage positively with visitors and work colleagues
Essential Qualities:
- Professional demeanour and an ability to thrive under pressure
- Ability to contribute to a healthy workplace culture
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and effective communication with visitors of all ages
- Ability and willingness to work in adverse weather conditions
- Prepared for physical demands, including walking, carrying, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, squatting, sitting, standing, twisting, and repetitious movement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Cert II in Animal Care or currently studying
- Classification C driver’s license.
- Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Prepared for physical demands, including walking, carrying, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, squatting, sitting, standing, twisting, and repetitious movement.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical.
