About the role

Oakvale Wildlife Park has an opportunity available for an experienced Maintenance Manager. You will be working within our Maintenance Department and responsible for maintaining and improving infrastructure across the business. The right applicant will possess a professional and positive approach, coupled with passion and knowledge.

You will be required to:

  • Deliver exceptional maintenance outcomes including daily routines and checks, monitoring and repairing infrastructure and project management.
  • Liaising with management and team members to deliver on daily objectives.
  • Conduct all duties in accordance with a sound understanding policies and procedures and core business principals.
  • Manage accurate maintenance records through a variety of inhouse record keeping systems.

Key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate exceptional time management skills and ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to personal and park grounds presentation to showcase Oakvale Wildlife Park as a premier destination.
  • Monitor equipment inventory, stock levels, and coordinate resources in a timely and budget conscious manner.
  • Ensure Workplace Health and Safety standards are maintained and improved upon to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Communicate in a clear, honest, and professional manner to ensure healthy, long term professional relationships.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Approximately 2 years in a maintenance manager role or similar position.
  • Basic handyman or building knowledge across a wide variety of trades. Including fencing, plumbing, carpentry, grounds keeping and landscaping.
  • Ability to operate chainsaws, forklift, tractor, whipper snippers, mowers and other various tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to assist with sound team collaboration and external stakeholder interactions.
  • A passion to grow and develop the Maintenance Department.
  • Applicant must be fit for physical work, enthusiastic, mature-minded, confident, well presented, and able to demonstrate a high level of work ethic and initiative.
