Can I bring balloons into the park?

We kindly advise that balloons are NOT allowed into Oakvale Wildlife Park.

Here at Oakvale Wildlife Park, we prioritise the safety and welfare of all wildlife. We strive to protect them from potential harm caused by items such as balloons.

When balloons are released into the air, they can travel significant distances, ultimately becoming litter and posing a severe threat to animals that may mistake them for food or become entangled in them. Furthermore, balloons take years to decompose, leading to environmental pollution.

As conscientious advocates of the environment, we strive to provide a sustainable and secure habitat for all living beings, both within and beyond our park. Although we understand that celebrations and special events often involve balloons, we urge you to consider eco-friendly alternatives. By utilising your imagination, you can make your event both environmentally friendly and unforgettable.

Blowing Bubbles - Use bubbles to add a festive touch. Watching them catch the light as they float and bounce in the air can make for some memorable and pretty moments.

Bunting – Beautiful waves of fabric can be made at home and uniquely designed with different patterns, shapes, and colours. They are also reusable, fun to make, and sure to light up the party.

Tissue Paper Pompoms – Providing some bursts of colour, tissue paper pompoms are spectacular! These pretty, colourful poof balls can be easily made at home and are reusable.

Pinwheels – With flashy colours fluttering in the wind, pinwheels are sure to catch many eyes.

Guests are welcome to decorate the area with banners, streamers, and other paper décor that can be recycled or composted after the event. Decorative items are to be secured using blue tac or twine only, and all items must be removed upon completion of the special event.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us create a safe and sustainable environment for our wildlife. Together we can make a positive impact on our planet.
